Wera TM has integrated its fabrics into a number of prototype products as a means of demonstrating some of the many applications for its technology.

One key benefit is that Wera fabrics are stretchable.  Stretch allows the fabric to achieve excellent contact with the surface of the body it is heating.  Heating distribution is very even and heat transfer is optimised.  In portable applications this ensures maximum battery life

The natural stretch of our fabrics allow heating systems to be seamlessly integrated into other stretch type products such as neoprene wetsuits and neoprene joint and muscle wraps.   We’ve produced a prototype wetsuit top and a number of joint and muscle wraps that deliver extremely effective heating. If these products are of interest to you please contact our sales team.  Contact Us

However, stretch is only a requirement for some products.  Being a knitted fabric means Wera's heaters can be directly integrated into the manufacture of standard knitted goods.  This includes socks, shirts, undergarments, workwear, and fashion items.

Other products that will benefit from our heating technology include:

  • Seat heaters.

  • Sleeping bags.

  • Wetsuits and divesuits.   Read More

  • Therapeutic items targeting arthritis, and injury prevention and recovery - wheat bags, therapeutic cushions, joint and muscle wraps. Read More

  • Medical applications.

  • Sport and recreational apparel including snowsports.

  • Everyday shoes and clothing.

  • Motorcycle jackets and apparel.

  • Office and home furniture.

  • Replacement for household electric blankets (fast and safe heating).

  • Industrial heaters.

  • And lots more.

At Wera TM , we have gained significant experience in product development and integration of heating systems.  If you have an enquiry or require technical assistance in this area, do not hesitate to Contact Us .

There are some basic technical details that needs to be addressed by the product designer in order to develop heating systems that operate effectively and safely.  One thing to remember is that the fabric conducts electrical current, which although for most low voltage direct current (such as that from a battery source) applications is electrically safe, it is best that the fabric is electrically isolated if its primary use involves human contact.  Discuss the details with us if you need to know more.
